Nancy "Leighann" Long, age 68, of Joplin, Missouri passed away November 2, 2024, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
Leighann was born May 20, 1956, in Joplin, MO., to William (Bill) Ray Clark and Nancy Lee (Stone) Clark. On October 10, 1975, Leighann married Rodney Merle Long in Joplin, MO.
Leighann worked for her parents cleaning business until they retired. Leighann then began working at Bagcraft Packaging where she worked as a stacker. She went to work for McDonald's to help fill her time. Later to retire during her fight with breast cancer. She was proud of winning that fight.
Leighann was a woman of faith, growing up she attended Faith Baptist Church, where she spoke of the best years and memories of going to church, as well as making the best friendships. Most recently she loved attending Liberty Baptist Church in Webb City, MO.
Leighann always loved shopping for a great deal and going to Dollar Tree to buy cards to mail to her friends. She loved planting flowers in the springtime but most importantly spending time with her three grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Rodney; a daughter, Rachel (James) Sill; and three grandchildren, Shelby, Jackson, and Savannah. She lived for her grandchildren. And last, and almost more important, her 2 cats, “Sissy” and “Alley”. Leighann will be missed by all her friends, who knew and loved her. And especially by 2 friends, who called her “sister”, Mary Ward, and Linda Rasmussen.
Leighann was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, Joel Morrow.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 11, 2024, at Forest Park Cemetery in Joplin, MO.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Liberty Baptist Church in Webb City, MO.
