Patrick Edward Bolin, age 78, of Milford,
Missouri, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at Barton
County Memorial Hospital.
Pat was born March 13, 1930, in Big Lake,
Minnesota, to Alonzo and Mildred (Boander)
Bolin. He served in the U.S. Army during
the Korean War. Returning to Minnesota,
Pat began his 38 year career as an auto transport driver.
On April
30, 1955, at Glidden, Wisconsin,
Pat married Glendora Fern Henthorn, and they made their home in Minnesota
until 1998, when they moved from Becker to Milford. Pat was an active member and served as a
deacon of the Assembly of God Church, in both Minnesota
and Lamar. He was a member of Golden
City Lions Club, served on the OATS state board for eight years, and was
treasurer of Howell Cemetery
for five years.
Survivors include his wife, Fern, of 53
years; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra (Craig) Schwarzkopf, Becker, MN,
and Beckey (Dave) McLennan, Lamar, MO; a son, Brad (Tana) Bolin, Milford, MO; a
daughter-in-law, Nancy Bolin, Ozark, MO; 12 grandchildren, JuliAnn (Adam) Betker, Karen Schwarzkopf, John (Crystal)
McLennan, Jason Bolin, Jarah McLennan, Karl Schwarzkopf, Angela Bolin, Justin
Bolin, Mark Schwarzkopf, Alicia Bolin, Jinnie McLennan and Joshua McLennan;
four great-grandchildren, Jordan McLennan, Karissa McLennan, Grace Betker, and
Glory Betker; two brothers, William (Joan) Bolin, South Haven, MN, Dale (Marlys)
Bolin, Elk River, MN; two sisters, Mary Varner, New Richmond, WI, Dorothy (Marvin)
Hill, Osseo, Minnesota; a sister-in-law, Sharon Bolin, LaPorte, MN; a large
extended family; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a
brother, Dennis Bolin, and a brother-in-law, Orville Varner.
A memorial celebration of Pat’s life will
be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday,
November 8th at First Assembly of God Church in Lamar. Military honors will be conducted by V.F.W.
Post 3691. A memorial service will be
held at a later date at Bridgeview Assembly of God Church, 20500
County Road #11, Big Lake, MN
followed by burial in Becker Cemetery.
