Patricia Ann Marti, age 63, of Lamar, passed away January 14, 2011 at Barton County Memorial Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Pat was born April 28, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY to Edward and Betty (Adams) Cosgrove. After graduating from St. Theresa’s Academy in Kansas City, Pat earned an associates degree from Crowder College. She had worked as a payroll clerk for O'Sullivan Industries in Lamar for 29 years, retiring when the plant closed in 2007. Pat was a member of Oakton United Methodist Church and she was also a member of Lamar Country Club where she enjoyed playing golf. Pat was looking forward to the celebration of the birth of twin grandsons in February.
On May 10, 2003, at Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Pat married Ken Marti, and he resides at the home. Also surviving are two sons, Michael and Jim Haigney, both of Kansas City, Missouri; Steve and wife Brenda Cosgrove, Sweet Springs, Missouri; a brother, Hoyt and wife Kelly Reed, St. Louis, Missouri; two step-daughters, Kenya and husband Josh Addington, Oronogo, Missouri, and Jennifer Marti and Chris Dixon, Lamar; mother-in-law Arlene Marti of Lamar; brother-in-law, Wayne Marti and Debbie of Carthage; two sister-in-laws, Lu Fanning and Connie and Jerald Lehman of Lamar; five grandchildren, Ryan and Courtney Haigney, Kyran and Kyler Addington and Chrislyn Dixon; two step-grandchildren, Sheldon Haigney and Kameron Haigney; Nephews, Jack, Collin, Andrew and Daniel Reed, Nieces, Keely Jameson, Katie Williams and Kelsey Cosgrove.
Pat was preceded in death by her father, Ed Cosgrove; her mother Betty Cosgrove Reed; and her step-father, Tony Reed.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday January 18, 2011 at Daniel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at Lake Cemetery.
