Rick Hampton

Ricky Lynn Hampton, age 67, of Lamar, Missouri passed away July 20, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
 
Rick was born July 19,1956 in Kennett, Missouri to John W Hampton and Erma Mae (Mitchell) Hampton. On July 26, 1998, Rick married Debbie Jean Mason in Lamar, Missouri.
 
Rick was self-employed as a contractor. He loved working in his yard and received "Yard of the Month" several times from the Barton County Master Gardner's Club. Rick was also known to be a "tailgate philosopher" and could talk to anyone about anything at any given time.  He served in the United States Marine Corp until he was honorably discharged on May 22, 1980 and then served in the Army Reserves until he was honorably discharged on April 22, 1986.

Survivors include his wife Debbie; three sons, Eric Hampton of California, Brian (Jenni) Duncan and Kelly Duncan, all of Lamar; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rebecca Hampton of Kissee Mills, Missouri and Sandra Minor of Cortland, Illinois.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John Hampton and Ron Hampton.
 
A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 ~ 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, MO.
