Robert Dale "Bob" Borghardt, age 79 of rural Lamar, passed away early Monday morning, July 30, 2012 at Barton County Memorial Hospital.      Bob was born August 22, 1932 at the family farm home in Barton County, to Floyd and Dovie (Hall) Borghardt.  Always a hard worker, Bob's first job, at age 14, was working on the pipe line in western Kansas. He then entered the U.S. Army in 1952 and served in Korea through 1954.  Bob will be remembered by many at the Concrete Plant, Lawn Boy, and O'Sullivan's in Lamar, as well as those who respected his welding skills in the mining industry or highway construction over the years.       On October 21, 1955, at Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Lamar, Bob married Leta Marie Crockett and they had celebrated 48 years together before her death April 25, 2004. He was a member of the Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  Bob was also preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Dovie; a son Dale Robert Borghardt; a brother, Jewel Clinton Borghardt; a sister, Betty Baker; and a great-grandson.      Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Deanna & Steve Laepple, Lamar, Sharon & Jay Braker, Liberal, Rita & Dick Clark, Goodman; a son, Scott & Rebekah Borghardt, Lamar; a daughter-in-law, Allison Borghardt Weinstein, a brother, Truman Borghardt, Topeka, Kansas; 19 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.      Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4th at Daniel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday.  Burial will be in Sheldon Cemetery with full military honors.      Memorial contributions are suggested to Sheldon Cemetery in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
