Robert Lawrence Sr.

Robert Gene Lawrence Sr., age 68, of Lamar, Missouri passed Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Barton County Memorial Hospital after a two-year battle with cancer.       Robert was born August 4, 1948 in Kiesar, Arkansas to Larry Lawrence and Nora E. (Card) Lawrence.  He had worked as a truck driver for many years until his health caused him to retire. He married Linda Sparks and together they had three children.  They later divorced.  He married Tottie Ford and she passed in 2014. Robert enjoyed coaching softball, drag racing, and go kart racing.  He was a member of Oakton United Methodist Church.       Survivors include two sons, Robert Voyles and wife Jill, Pontotoc, Mississippi and Robert Lawrence Jr. and wife Brandy, Lamar, Missouri; two daughters, Jennifer Fernandez and husband Kenneth Jr., Maui, Hawaii and Carli Moore, Lamar, Missouri; two brothers, Jasper Hicks, Starkville, Mississippi and David Douglas, Tupelo, Mississippi; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.      Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Oakton United Methodist Church with Pastor Kent Garfield Officiating.  Burial will follow in Oakton Cemetery.       Family will receive friend 6:00 to 7:00 pm Friday at Daniel Funeral Home.       Contributions are suggested to Oakton United Methodist Church in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
