Robert Lee Wineinger, age 74, of Lamar,
passed away Monday, May 24, 2010, at his home after a two-year illness.
Bob was born March 13, 1936 at Vincennes, Indiana,
to Murch and Inez (Fiddler) Wineinger. After
graduating from high school, Bob entered the U.S. Air Force and served for
twenty years as an avionics instructor at various state-side and overseas
bases. He was a veteran of both the
Korean and Vietnam Wars. In 1973, after completing twenty years of Air Force
duty, Bob began a second career as a police sergeant, retiring from the Nevada, Missouri Police
Department.
On October 18, 1955, at Vincennes, Indiana,
Bob married Ellen B. Rowland, and she survives, of the home. Also surviving are two daughters, Brenda
Streiner and Pamela Wineinger; a sister, Carolyn Plummer; four grandchildren,
Allen Crockett, Celeste Potter, Camille Potter, and Courtney Moeller; and four
great-grandchildren, Hades McCaslin, Aidan Potter, Rebecca Chaligoj, and Daniel
Moeller. He was preceded in death by his
parents, Murch and Inez Wineinger, and a brother, James Wineinger.
A private memorial service will be held at
a later date.
