Robert N. Zulian, 86, of Washington, passed away peacefully at 1:50 a.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Snyder Village in Metamora.
Bob was born on October 13, 1923 in Iantha, Missouri to Andrew and Mary Castalaz Zulian. He married Bonnie L. Wimer in Lamar, Missouri on October 16, 1949, she survives.
Also
surviving is one brother, Frank (Lillian) Zulian of Kansas City,
Missouri; one sister-in-law, Delores Zulain of Tulsa, Oklahoma and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob had been a banker at Washington State Bank
in Washington. Prior to that time, he had been a banker at Citizens
State Bank of Granby in Granby, Missouri and a farm manager for Central National Bank and Commercial National Bank in Peoria. Bob also served as a bank director for Cuba Sate Bank and Onarga State Bank.
Bob was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army.
He had earned a bachelors of science degree in agriculture from the University of Missouri at Columbia after finishing high school.
He had also been a teacher at Stockton High School in Stockton, Missouri and Lamar High School and a county extension agent for the University of Missouri prior to moving to Illinois.
Bob
was a member of Washington Christian Church and a prior member of
Stockton Lions Club and the Granby Lions Club. In Washington he was a
member of the Washington Rotary Club and the Washington Historical
Society.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, Missouri. Burial will follow in Morehead Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside on Sunday. Assisting the family in Illinois is Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington.
