Ruben Edwin Schorzman, age 84, of Jasper, MO died Wednesday May 23, 2012 at Truman Healthcare Center.
Ruben was born September 8, 1927 to Dominick and Lidia (Orth) Schorzman in St. Francis, KS. On November 21, 1948 he married Betty Fern Maring and together they raised two daughters.
For 40 years, he worked for MODOT as a Supervisor of the Jasper, MO facility. Ruben had also worked for 13 years for the Jasper County Road District as well as the Richland Township Road Maintenance. He loved fishing, camping, gardening, and loved spending time with his family.
Ruben is survived by his wife of 63 years; two daughters, Maryland and Doug McKinney of Paulden, AZ and Janet and Tony Neher of Jasper, MO; one brother, Clarence and Dorlyne Schorzman of Lamar; four grandchildren, Travis Neher and Brian Neher of Jasper, MO, Nathan Rice of Carl Junction, MO and Macy Rice of Paulden, AZ; three great grandchildren, Keaton Page LeMasters, Destiny Rice, and Matthew Neher, Sarah and April Tilley, Ryleigh and Drake McMullen, Dallas and Austin Strickland, Lisa, Katelyn, Gracie and Corie; and one great great grandchild, Harmony Rice.
Preceding him in death were his parents, eight brothers and five sisters.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 am Thursday until service time.
