Sam Castlebury

Samuel Castlebury, 58, of Sheldon, passed suddenly on January 6, 2014. The lifetime Vernon County resident is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandy Castlebury, daughters Shelly Castlebury, Samantha Hammond and son-in-law Tyler Hammond of Burke Va., son Rocky and daughter-in-law Marissa Castlebury of Mt. Vernon MO; mother Ruby Castlebury-Wright of Sheldon; sisters Cindy Leonard and Sheila Laning of Sheldon and younger brother Joe Castlebury of Nevada Mo. He was preceeded in death by his father, Walter Ralph Castlebury. Samuel was an elder of the Sheldon Christian Church and served three terms as a board member of the Sheldon School system. He enjoyed a lifetime of loving his family, farming, fishing and watching the Kansas City Chiefs. The family will receive friends 10:00 to 11:00 am, Thursday January 9, 2014 at Sheldon Christian Church.  A memorial graveside service will follow at Sheldon Cemetery.
