Samuel Robert "Bob" Jeffries

Samuel Robert "Bob" Jeffries, age 92, of Lamar, MO passed away November 14, 2019, at Truman Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness.    Bob was born August 26, 1927 in Lamar, MO to James N. Jeffries and Effie Carolyn Gordon. On February 14, 1949, Bob married Ramona Maxine Peterson at the Lamar First Christian Church.    Bob worked at Thorco in Lamar for 25 years and was also a self-employed carpenter. Bob was drafted into the Army on December 3, 1945 and later transferred his enlistment to the United States Air Force as an aircraft engine mechanic. He was also a minister.     Survivors include 1 daughter, Christine Gruver, Lamar, Missouri; 8 sons, David (Gail) Jeffries, Carthage, MO; Joel (Sara) Jeffries, Lamar, MO; Matt (Jean) Jeffries, Lamar, MO; Nate Jeffries, Watford, ND; Daniel (Rebecca) Jeffries, Lockwood, MO; Ned (Gerette) Jeffries, Lamar, MO; Eric Jeffries, Lamar, MO., and Jared (Janis) Jeffries, Lamar, MO; 26 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.     Preceding Samuel in death were his wife; 1 daughter, Diana Lynn; 3 grandchildren, Heather, Abraham and Kirsten; 6 brothers; 8 sisters and his parents.    Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow in Morehead Cemetery, Lamar, MO.     The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at the funeral home.     Contributions are suggested to the Bob Jeffries Family, in care of Daniel Funeral Home.    Condolences may be shared at www.dfhlamar.com
