Sandra K. Wimer

Sandra K. Wimer, age 69, of Lamar, MO died Saturday, April 4, 2015 at her son’s home in Joplin, MO. Sandra was born May 16, 1945 at Long Beach, CA to Frank Henry and Lilly Rose (Larsen) Harvey.  She graduated Long Beach Poly Technic High School and attended Long Beach City College.  On February 15, 1964, she married Larry LeRoy Wimer at Long Beach, CA.  Sandra was a past member of the B & B Riders Club and Lamar Saddle Club and enjoyed working with Appaloosa Horses.  She loved tending to her garden and was quietly an amateur artist, working with painting and wood carving. Remaining behind are four sons; David (Lee) Wimer of Canyon Country, CA, Jason (Nicole) Wimer of Washington DC; Barry (Danielle) Wimer of Joplin, MO and Aaron (Seham) Wimer of Kansas City, MO; one daughter Katie Hines of Carthage, MO; one brother, Vernon Harvey of Lamar, MO; one sister Nicoline Ekstrand, of Lamar, MO; 10 grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Mason, Jennifer, Addison, Emma, Lily, Caleb, Beau & Chanel; and one great grandson, Colton. Preceding her in death were her husband, Larry Wimer; her parents Frank and Lilly Harvey; grandparents, Richard Hans and Mary Nicoline Larsen, and Albert and Elizabeth Harvey; and one sister, Rosemary Cullum. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Daniel Funeral Home. Burial will be 1:30 pm Friday, April 10, 2015 at Fort Scott National Cemetery.
