Shawn Ladd

Shawn O'Brien Ladd, age 37, of Lamar, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at his home.      Shawn was born September 18, 1974 in Joplin, Missouri, to Sam and Sandy (Pruett) Ladd.  He graduated from Lamar High School in 1992 and had worked as a carpenter for Crossland Construction.       In October of 2000, at Lamar, Shawn married Jeri Hagen and this union was blessed by a daughter, Angel, and a son, Patrick..  Shawn was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, football, volleyball, frisbie, and dirt bikes.  His favorite activities were any that could be shared with his children.      Survivors include the mother of his children, Jeri Ladd, his daughter, Angel, and his son, Patrick, all of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; his parents, Sam & Sandy Ladd, a brother, Shane Ladd, a sister and brother-in-law, Shannon & Buster Crutcher, all of Lamar; four nieces, Savannah Ladd, Kennedy Ladd, Sydney Crutcher and Hope Crutcher; a great-niece, Zoey Higgs; and a good friend, Heath Stilabower. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Daniel Funeral Home.      A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 20th at Lake Cemetery with Larry Wheeler officiating.           Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ladd children, in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
