Thelma Brown

Thelma Ruth Brown, age 82, of Lamar, Missouri died Wednesday, October 03, 2012 at Truman Healthcare Center in Lamar, Missouri. Thelma was born April 10, 1930 at Winfield, Kansas to Thomas "Ervin" and Angeline "Angie" Roth (Knox) King.  She graduated high school at Winfield and attended South Western College.  On January 15, 1984 she married F.L. "Brownie" Brown at Lamar, MO and he survives of the home. As a nature lover, she loved being outside, loved gardening, reading and music.  She had worked at 1st National Bank in Kansas City, MO and also worked at the Blue Top Cafe in Lamar. In addition to her husband "Brownie", Thelma is survived by two brothers, Robert King, of Winfield, KS, and Ralph & Loretta King of Wichita, KS; one sister Martha Spencer, of Winfield, KS; several nieces and nephews. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Raymond "Scotty" King  and Roy King; three sisters, Esther Friend,  Inez Foster,  and Edith Wells. Graveside service will be 11:00 am Friday October 5, 2012 at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Winfield, KS.
