Tricia Gaines

Patricia Lee Gaines, age 40, of Lamar, passed away Friday, January 21, 2011 at her home following a six month illness.      Tricia, the daughter of John and Kathy (Cash) Mulder, was born July 11, 1970, at Covina, California.  She spent her early childhood in southern California and, at age 13, moved with her family to Sacramento.  In 2002, at Reno, Nevada, Tricia married Wes Gaines and they moved to Monett, Missouri in 2004.  In June of 2005 they moved to Lamar where Tricia had worked as a pharmacy tech at Walmart for three years.  Tricia was a talented and hospitable homemaker wherever she lived.  In addition to being a wonderful cook and baker, she had a gift for creative hand-work, blessing family and friends with items she had knitted, crocheted or cross stitched.  She also enjoyed reading and the company of her dog, Bear.  Tricia attended First Christian Church of Lamar.      Survivors include her mother and step-father, Kathy & Don Crawford, Monett; her father, John Mulder, Lincoln, California; three sons, Chris Navin of southern California, Robert and Nathan Boartfield, both of Kingman, Arizona; two daughters, Kat & husband Gary Layton, Monett and Jennie Boartfield, Lamar; a step-son, Alan & wife Jamie Gaines, Folsom, California; two brothers, Scott Mulder, San Clemente, California, and John Mulder, Jr., Lincoln, California; three grandchildren, Isaac & Luke Gaines, and Ryan Layton; and a large extended family.      The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 26th at Daniel Funeral Home.  Honoring Tricia's wishes, her body will then be cremated.      Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lamar Good Samaritan Shop in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
