Trula "Billie" Dimond

Trula Faye “Billie” Dimond, age 85, of Lamar, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Barton County Memorial Hospital.        Billie was born May 8, 1924, to August and Amelia Wendt at Herington, Kansas.  On March 29, 1946, at Girard, Kansas, she married R.W. “Docky” Dimond.  He preceded her in death June 19, 2009, after 63 years of marriage.  Billie leaves behind two sons and their wives, Jack & Kathleen Dimond and Jeff & Karen Dimond, all of Lamar; two daughters and their husbands, Jane & Bill McIntyre, Osage Beach, and Julie & John Zibert, Lamar; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Cecil Wendt of Herington, KS; two sisters, Eleamae Krauss, of Herington, KS, and Barbara Weatherman, of San Antonio, TX.        Billie was a homemaker. She loved to fish, bowl and polka dance.  She was dedicated to her family and her many close friends.  She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.        Billie was preceded in death by her husband, “Docky” Dimond; her parents, three brothers, Hugo, Percy, and James Wendt; two sisters, Twila Vineyard, and Lila Mann.        A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28th at Daniel Funeral Home with Rev. Galen Friedrichs officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Daniel Funeral Home.        Memorial contributions are suggested to Barton County Senior Center in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
