Viola Robinson, age 85, of Lamar, died Tuesday March 5, 2013 at Freeman Hospital West, Joplin, MO.
Viola was born July 26, 1927 to Ralph Datesman Hain and Blanche Elizabeth (Witters) Hain in Argonia, KS. On January 11, 1952 she married Burlen W. Robinson.
Known as an excellent seamstress, Viola loved to quilt, knit and crochet. She was a member of Fiber Arts and loved helping raise her grandkids. She also worked at Big Smith as a seamstress for over 20 years.
Viola leaves behind two sons, Johnny & Sheryl Blake of Wellington, KS and Tom Robinson of Carl Junction, MO; one step-son Don & Celia Robinson of Clarksville, GA; four daughters, Janice & Don Grisham of Carthage, MO, Joyce & Ron Sullivan of Lamar, MO, Naomi & Bob Ketterman of Arkansas City, KS, and Debbie & Howell Henderson, of Webb City, MO; thirteen grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband Burlen Robinson, parents, seven brothers, Harold, John, Lloyd, Jim, George, Forest, and Floyd Hain; two sisters, Mary Waetzig and June Blankenship.
Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Daniel Funeral Home with Mike Gage officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery
Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, March 8, 2013 at the funeral home.
