Wayne Owen

Ernest Wayne Owen, age 81, of Lamar, Missouri passed away April 1, 2020, at Truman Healthcare and Rehabilitation.    Wayne was born July 25, 1938 in Lamar to Ernest Woodrow Owen and Thelma Viola (Giger) Owen. He graduated from Lamar High School in the class of 1956 and on June 23, 1979, he married Willa Mae Jones also in Lamar.    Wayne was a cattle farmer and had worked at Thorco for 34 years.   Survivors include his wife Willa; five daughters, Rhonda Hackathorne of Sheldon, MO, Terri Chadd of Nevada, MO, Edeana (Joe) Castlebury, Nevada, MO, Dana (Jason) Evans of Fredonia, KS, and Deana LeGrand of Lamar, MO and three siblings, Roy (Linda) Owen  of Lamar, MO, Marjorie (Sam) Crabtree of Lamar, MO, and Carolyn (Gary) Fowler of Sheldon, MO. 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a baby brother, Leslie Owen.   A private family burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.   There will be a public memorial service and visitation scheduled in the near future to celebrate Wayne's life.   Contributions are suggested to the charity of the donors choice, in care of Daniel Funeral Home and condolences may be shared at www.dfhlamar.com
