William Gage

10:00 a.m. Monday November 4, 2019 Daniel Funeral Home William James Gage, age 90, of Lamar, Missouri passed away October 08, 2019, at Mt. Vernon Veterans Home. William was born September 19, 1929 in Lamar, MO to Frank Gage and Effie (Brummet) Gage. William graduated from Lamar High School in the class of 1947. After high school, he served his country in the United States Army. On January 25, 1952, William married Joyce Maxine Harlin in Lamar, MO and together they raised their two children. William worked as a  Boarder Patrolman, an Immigration Officer, and Criminal Investigator for the Justice Department. With his employment, WIlliam and Joyce lived in California, Montana, North Dakota, Florida and Arizona.  After retirement they returned to Lamar, where he was a member of the Lamar VFW and enjoyed playing golf.Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Joyce; a son Steven Gage of Okeechobee, FL;  a daughter, Victoria Konchar of Jupiter, FL; a brother, Robert Gage, Arlington, TX; two sisters, Margaret Wattenbarger, and Norma Jean Harris, both of Lamar, MO. Service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2019, at Daniel Funeral Home with Military Honors. Jack Winningham  will officiate.
